Moving to Miracle Mountain!

Nehemiah built the walls in troublesome times; Joshua led the children of Israel to cross the Jordan when the river had swollen past its banks, and we at Morning Star Baptist Church find ourselves building during an economic recession.

WHY ARE WE BUILDING??

Morning Star Baptist Church started September 16, 2001, in a school building with no air conditioning, no signage except on weekends, and with metal chairs. The decision to stay at this central location in West Chester, Ohio, enabled the young church to save money every week towards the purchase of land of the Lord’s choosing. In spite of the disadvantages, MSBC grew into a multifaceted evangelistic ministry with a membership that has a mind to work. In May of 2006, the Lord smiled on Morning Star Baptist Church and helped her to pay cash for twenty-one acres of land along the interstate 75 corridor. In September of 2008, the church partnered with the Environ Group to build an edifice for the glory of God. We at Morning Star view the building as a means to an end. Just as a fisherman can catch more fish with a good boat, we are praying that the Saviour from Galilee will use our gospel outreach to catch many men, women, boys and girls with a Christ-centered message.



WHY IS HE BLESSING??

The Lord has been so gracious to us to not only increase our number, but to give us people that are born-again, have doctrinal convictions, have a love for spiritual unity, and an intense desire to propagate the gospel. The Lord has often led us to the brim of the Red Sea, but He has also parted many a difficulty and left us wide-eyed and praising His wonderful name!! God blesses His truth. He also blesses those who are obedient and courageous enough to care more about what He wants than what the winds of change might dictate. Why does the Lord wonderfully bless our ministry? – Honestly, I believe the only reason is because He is gracious and because we have “come to the Kingdom for Such a Time as this…” for His glory!! The Lord wants His New Testament churches to bring Him glory and for a dying world to see Christ as the FIRST LOVE of those churches. I truly believe we are in the last days and that if MSBC will remain faithful, we could be a church of the MORNING STAR, the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:21



WHY ARE WE BATTLING??

In Joshua 14 an eighty year old man named Caleb told Joshua “Now therefore give me this mountain…” Caleb had to battle and conquer the mountain before he could claim and build a godly legacy. Building and battling is what describes our ministry the past eight years. If we do not build, then we have nothing to protect; and if we do not fight, then we lose what we have built. The spiritual battles have been many, but our Heavenly Captain has caused us to overcome. There is an unleashed Evil in this world and he has his sway over many blinded victims. Morning Star Baptist Church is committed to rescuing as many precious souls from the snare of the Devil as the Lord grants them repentance. (II Timothy 2:24-26)

We may have many human enemies; we are called to love them. But our sworn enemy is a roaring Lion that never sleeps; therefore we must be ever vigilant operating on high alert. (I Peter 5:8)



WHY ARE WE BENEVOLENT??

Members and friends of Morning Star have given so generously to this building project. It is truly amazing to see how sacrificially people have given the past five years. With rising costs and sinking employment our building project can only go forward on our knees. We ask all who care for the advancement of the Kingdom of Christ to please pray for us. Pray that our people will never become too weary in well doing that we miss the blessing by fainting (Galatians 6:9). Please pray that generous gifts and donations will continue to come in so that MSBC will be a testimony of the Grace of God. J Hudson Taylor said “God’s work done God’s way, will never lack God’s supply.” Americans are spending money they don’t have, buying things they don’t need, trying to impress people they don’t like. We believe that we are investing for eternity and that generations to come will be encouraged by the sacrifice of a small group of people whom the world is not worthy. (Psalm 48:12-14, Hebrews 11:38)

Yes, we are moving to Miracle Mountain. Look for us just north of the Cincinnati-Dayton Road Exit on the west side of Interstate 75. We are sandwiched in between Super Walmart and the Islamic Mosque of West Chester, Ohio.
